Join the SEIN Board

Would you like the opportunity to develop your experience in the community sector? Do you live, work or are well connected in the south east of Glasgow? Do you support our aims to build a community across the south east of Glasgow which is actively welcoming, inclusive, and anti-racist?

We’re looking for several new people to join the South East Integration Network board of trustees.

In this role, you will help shape the direction of the organisation and the network – and support SEIN to achieve its aims; connecting SEIN members, and furthering community integration activity in the south east of Glasgow (read Our Mission).

We would welcome people with the following experience:

  • lived experience of migration into the local area

  • fundraising

  • HR

  • organisational development / change

  • understanding of the third sector in Scotland / charity management

  • none of the above / no experience on a board (the main criteria for joining is your enthusiasm for furthering the work that we do)

Time Commitment

Time commitment is a big question for most people when thinking about joining a board. We hope that the time you give to SEIN will be rewarding and beneficial to you, however, we will do our best to make sure the role can work around your life, work and other commitments.

Further Information

We would like the SEIN board to reflect the diversity of the network, and welcome interest and applications from people from all ages, stages and backgrounds. If you are interested, but feel you have specific barriers to joining (such as caring commitments or feel you lack the experience), please let us know so we can talk about how we can address these and make it possible for you.

We are hoping to recruit up to four new members, so please do let us know if you are open/keen to put yourself forward.

Please get in touch if you would like to ask any questions, or have a chat about this opportunity & how it could work for you.

“Belonging is something I strive for personally (since moving from Johannesburg, South Africa, 5 years ago), and what I work towards professionally. I am passionate about supporting dignity, justice, and compassion for members of our human family who have been displaced and have to build a life and home elsewhere. This is what attracted me to the work of SEIN and why serving on the SEIN board is close to my heart.”
– Sohini Petrie (SEIN Chair)

“I joined the board because I’ve seen the good SEIN does first hand. I believe integration is vital because communities, not individuals, make meaningful change, cultivating the resistance and resilience we all need to generate solidarity, collaboration and trust amongst our friends and neighbours.”
– Dave Donnolly (SEIN Board Member and Govanhill Food Not Bombs)
