REACH Community Health Project aims to improve the health and wellbeing of black and minority ethnic communities across Scotland.
REACH run an Ethnic Minority Dementia Friendly Group which helps empower ethnic minority individuals with dementia, their families and ethnic minority communities in general. The groups aims to help increase knowledge and confidence about claiming rights from service providers, while understanding responsibilities. It also helps towards reducing stigma about the condition among some ethnic minority communities, and help carers, friends, family & wider community members understand how to care for, and live with, those with dementia. REACH also host a Ladies Coffee Mornings every Tuesday 11.00- 1.00pm. Women can come along to meet new people, have a cup of tea, participate in different activities, and listen to agencies talk about their services. Please note that this is a women-only space. Walking Groups talk place on Wednesday 10.00 - 12.00. These help to get people back on their feet and start feeling better about themselves again & meet new people. This walking groups leaves from various locations in Govanhill. There is always a small tea break before walking back.
