Amina MWRC are working together with the Daisy Project and North East Glasgow Framework for Dialogue to deliver toys to children celebrating Eid in difficult circumstances. For children whose parents are living in refuge, recently arrived in the country, or who have fled challenging situations, they may not have the opportunity to celebrate the holiday as they were hoping for. They may not be in a housing situation that supports them to celebrate, their parent (or parents) may not have means to provide gifts, or the family may simply be too overwhelmed to create the Eid celebration they want.
Amina and partners in different women’s aid organisations and refugee projects have identified families who would benefit from the donation of new toys, books and games for their children observing Ramadan and Eid this May.
There are two ways you can support the Toy Drive and make a child’s Eid that much brighter –
- You can purchase an item and drop it off at the Amina offices on any Thursday between 9AM and 5PM, from the 1st of May onwards. Toys will be sanitised, packaged and quarantined ready to be picked up by the different charities shortly before Eid.
- You can donate via their Facebook fundraiser! If you don’t have the time to buy something, or feel nervous about visiting the shops, you can donate to the fundraiser and members of the Amina team will pick up items using those funds.
