Back in November 2019, some of our members took part in a focus group with researcher Sarah Kyambi of Migration Policy Scotland; a project scoping out the options for building increased policy capacity on migration in Scotland. Some of her work has fed in to the new policy paper launched today (Monday 27th January) by the Scottish Government This sets out proposals for Scottish migration policy, designed to work within a devolved system.
The First Minister said; “Devolving immigration powers by introducing a Scottish Visa would allow Scotland to attract and retain people with the skills and attributes we need for our communities and economy to flourish.”
